HundertPro Festival Vol. 7
In the organizer's words:
Society New Dreams
Reality has hardened. Classism and racist narratives are openly articulated. The "cityscape" is being declared a problem. The political wind is blowing harder, the social climate is getting colder and the word "we" is being used more often to draw boundaries rather than open doors.
We turn off the background noise for a moment. Not to repress or close our eyes to the world. But to dream it anew. To immerse ourselves in images that are almost impossible to find in the constant noise of crisis. To keep our aspirations for a better life (together) high, while many things weigh us down.
The HundertPro Festival Vol.7 celebrates theater as a place where new images are created that not only depict what is, but also open our eyes to what could be. Between anarchist puppet theater, highly emotional break-up rave, cool black dandy aesthetics, grotesque images of masculinity and the deconstruction of patriarchal traditions, the stage shows that society is a made world - just like the theater: the result of decisions, agreements and power relations. And everything that is made can also be made differently. At least for the duration of a festival. And we hope: also for the time afterwards
So: open your eyes. Let us dream.
Program
The unleashing of Sebastian
Katharina (cat) Greven
performance
Language: DE | Duration: 45 min
Katze Greeven grew up with the Schützenfest on the Lower Rhine. The club in her village was all male until Katze learned how to wave the flag from her brother. Together with musician Cordula Heins and horn player Karin Knobloch, she questions the military, Christian and patriarchal roots of the Schützenfest.
I want revenge, grandma
Colleen Ndemeh Fitzgerald
dance
Language: EN | Duration: 45 min
Colleen Ndemeh's intimate and accusatory performance deals with the colonial history of Liberia. She criticizes the violent structures of the European colonial powers and makes concrete demands for the present and the future. Against the background of her own Kpelle affiliation, she invites the audience to ask themselves the question: What comes after centuries of colonial violence?
ESCAPE
Nora Varga Vermes
Theater
Language: EN | Duration : 45 min
The forest air is almost motionless, a light mist lies over the ground, small animals rustle. Escape begins with the first hunt: a possible origin of civilization, patriarchal order and violence. Through associative thinking, changes of perspective, dialog with objects and materials as well as awkwardness and absurdity, ESCAPE poses the question: hunter or gatherer?
Living the Schatz Life
Schatz & Schatz GbR
Physical Theater
Language: DE | Duration: 15 min
What makes a perfect relationship in 2026? Schatz & Schatz humorously question topics such as polyamory, gender roles, sustainability, egocentrism and the search for perfection. At the same time, the characters reflect the desire to be able to argue well, wrestle over issues and positions and still love passionately.
SONS
Nathan William Stearns & Alper Adem Yilmaz
Physical Theater
Language: DE | Duration: 15 min
In a snappy, dynamic TV channel format, two performers jump back and forth between various typical male roles. They combine grotesque humor and pop culture references with their own experiences. From sitcoms to telenovelas, from YouTube tutorials to commercials, masculinity is staged, presented and made consumable.
How not to disappear
Naledi Majola
dance
Language: - | Duration: 25 min
Between elegance, control and vulnerability, a performer moves through the space. Inspired by the aesthetics of the Black Dandy and the first Pride in Johannesburg in 1990, the performance explores visibility as a form of protection, resistance and self-assertion.
Masturpiece: Major Tom
Seung Hwan Lee
Physical Theater
Language: EN | Duration: 15 min
Is something being created here or just the process of creation being performed? We often assume that behind all art there is a deeper meaning, a hidden message - but is that necessarily the case? Is this piece trying to tell us something - or just exhibit the artist's inflated ego? More confession than statement, Masturpiece hovers in the volatile space between sincerity and irony.
HARD_BREAK
Marco Merenda
performance
Language: EN | Duration: 45 min
