A group of eight players meet on a basketball court. The referee blows the whistle to start the game. It begins. Something bounces. It could be a ball. Or a musical beat. Or a heart. Are we witnessing a harmless game? Or are we part of a hunt for humanity?

For HUNTER, the Flemish director, composer and exceptional multidisciplinary artist Liesa Van der Aa meets up with the Berlin vocal ensemble B O D I E S for a game of basketball. For a piece about rules, the consequences of rules and the human condition. For a piece about one of the most frequently treated topoi of opera: the state of the heart. Inspired by one of the most iconic works of contemporary pop music, Homogenic by the Icelandic singer Björk. Musically, the lyrical pop voices of B O D I E S meet original compositions by Liesa Van der Aa, songs by Björk and electronic sounds.

A musical battle against insensitivity and social disruption. A hunt for the heart.
