As the daughter of the Elector Palatine, Liselotte von der Pfalz was married against her will to the Sun King's brother, whom she had never seen before. She becomes a witness to life at the famous Versailles court. Only her humor, her manic letter-writing - she wrote more than 20,000 letters - and her culinary delights help Liselotte to survive in Versailles.

In his entertaining program, Thomas Siener combines Liselotte's sometimes hilarious letters with the wonderful music of the Versailles court from J.B. Lully to Fr. Couperin, specially arranged by him for the harp.

Thomas Siener, who studied piano, violoncello and harp, has long been involved in other arts in various ways. With acting and language lessons and philosophical studies, he puts his self-created motto into practice: "Combining the arts means finding knowledge"!
