Ich bin für mich! (UA)

What happens to a society when everyone thinks only of themselves? “I’m in It for Myself!” introduces young audiences to the topic of democracy in a playful way and highlights how important it is to think of others.
Martin Baltscheit has adapted his 2005 picture book into a play, which will have its world premiere in Krefeld.
Every four years, the animals elect their king. The lion loves the elections because the animals always vote for him. This time, however, things are different. A little gray mouse challenges him: “What’s the point of an election if you don’t have a choice? You need an opponent; otherwise, it doesn’t make any sense at all!” The lion unwisely agrees. A massive election campaign begins. Every species of animal fields its own candidate!
