A best ager in the prime of decline

Hans Gerzlich is horrified when he suddenly realizes that he was born in the same year as ... old people. In the commercial breaks of his favorite TV show, he is no longer offered seductive aftershaves and fast sports cars, but Granufink, Voltaren and heat patches. Are you as old as you feel or as you are made out to be by advertising?

50 on the outside, 20 on the inside, he asks himself: "When will life finally begin?" - And then the "personal pension information" arrives at his door. The newly minted best ager has done the math: If he retires at 67, he can live quite comfortably on it - for eleven days. That's why he's hoping for an increase in the bottle deposit. He also thinks about suppressing his own death, which language he should learn in order to be able to communicate with his carer later on, and why he waits three months for an appointment with an orthopaedist in one of the richest countries in the world.

A cabaret program for everyone who is 50, used to be 50 or is planning to turn 50 at some point. But beware: laugh lines are guaranteed.

Hans Gerzlich

is a trained foreign trade merchant, studied economics and worked as a board advisor for a large energy company. He has been on the road as a cabaret artist, comedian, presenter, speaker and author for over 20 years now and mainly takes the world of work to task in his programs.
