I DON'T WANT TO KNOW WHO I AM

Heiner Müller, born in Eppendorf, Saxony, would have been eighty years old on January 9, 2009. Fourteen years after Heiner Müller's death, it was time to ask this 'sphinx' from the East, with his dictum about the loss of utopias, whether his texts were, as he himself said, messages in a bottle for the future. For a future that is already the present? The film is not a portrait of Müller, but in the broadest sense a documentary research with his texts, in which a piece of his life's problems can always be discovered and which stands in contrast to his dictum: "I don't want to know who I am."
