IG-Jazz Session

In the organizer's words:

The IG-Jazz session is a meeting place for the jazz and related music scene. A band plays an opening set, followed by jamming from a common repertoire. For the audience, jazz comes alive and can be experienced, for the musicians it is a place to try out their skills and meet new people. It is also an opportunity to invite bands from other cities and thus promote networking between the scenes.

Rainer Pusch, the globetrotter when it comes to jazz, is coming to Mannheim after a long stay in India with his current line-up "The Usual Suspects". Rainer is a veteran of the local scene and a trailblazer for much of what is currently happening in the region in terms of jazz.

Pure joy of playing - that is the band's motto. "We are jazz musicians, we like groove, intelligent pop songs and want to play for the people and get them going," says Rainer. The band plays originals by Rainer and rarely heard jazz-latin-pop songs by Sonny Rollins, George Duke, Pat Metheny and Norah Jones, among others - originally arranged and reinterpreted.

Well then - let's look forward to a groovy, crazy evening with Rainer and the excellent rhythm section
