Illumination - "Der Garten leuchtet"

The large garden is atmospherically illuminated on many summer evenings.

In summer, the large garden is illuminated on many evenings and invites you to take romantic evening strolls. Dusk falls over the tranquil garden until the hedges, sculptures, fountains and fountains are illuminated for an hour, accompanied by baroque music (except on days in August)

• Admission price: 6 euros, reduced 4 euros (for pupils, students, BFD, FWD, FSJ and FÖJ volunteers and annual pass holders, also for illuminations without music), children/young people under 18 free.
• The illumination lasts one hour.
• The grotto is open until 30 minutes before the end of the illumination.
• The ticket office closes half an hour before the end of the illumination.
• *Due to events in the Great Garden, there are some illuminations without baroque music with reduced admission. Listen to the water music via smartphone during the event. The QR code to download the music is located at the palace ticket office.
• For safety reasons, no public illuminations can take place on the weekends of the International Fireworks Competition.

"Water Music" by George Frideric Handel, set to music in 2013 by the Hannoversche Hofkapelle and awarded the ECHO Klassik 2014. CDs are available in the Palace Shop of the Herrenhausen Gardens.
