ILLUSTRATIONS-WORKSHOP: "Monster Moni"

Come join us for an exciting illustration workshop with Sam Rassy on July 17, 2026, at your Hugendubel bookstore in Leipzig!

During the workshop, Sam Rassy will share exciting insights into the creation of his upcoming children’s book “Monster-Moni,” reveal the background of the story, and draw the characters from his book together with the children. Afterward, the children will become comic artists themselves, inventing their own stories while receiving creative tips directly from the pro.

About the book:
Welcome to Monster Island!
Through a secret portal, Moni ends up in the world of monsters and wants to explore everything. But her journey of discovery quickly turns into a dangerous adventure: Moni must defeat the terrifying Riemonkulus, or she’ll be trapped on Monster Island forever! And as if that weren’t hard enough, she’s also accompanied on her journey by Schlumpi 47—a tiny monster whose mouth never stops and who constantly stumbles into one disaster after another. Can Moni and Schlumpi 47 defeat Riemonkulus?

About the Author:
In Sam Rassy’s Heidelberg studio, stories are born where no adventure is too big. The young author and illustrator loves to dive into fantasy worlds and get up to all sorts of shenanigans to make his readers laugh. As an absolute monster expert, he has a special soft spot for anything fluffy and creepy.

This event is for ages 8 and up.
Please book one ticket per child so we can ensure there are enough seats.
Parents who wish to actively participate in the event themselves and sit next to their child also need a ticket. All guests with a ticket are guaranteed a seat, can actively participate in the event, and can get an autograph.
Parents who are simply accompanying their child to the store and are not participating in the event themselves do not need a ticket and may remain in the rest of the bookstore during the event. Please note: Guests without a ticket are not entitled to a seat in the event area.
