Imagine: the soft hum of the engine, fine dust settling on the Defender, above you only the endless sky of North Africa. Welcome to Morocco - a country between the Atlantic and the Sahara, between ancient royal cities and lonely desert paths.

The journey begins in Marrakesh, the beating heart of Morocco. From the very first step through the medina, the colors dance, spices tickle the nose and the sounds of the Djemaa el Fna echo for a long time. But Marrakesh is just the beginning: With the Land Rover Defender, equipped with a roof tent and everything you need for self-sufficient travel, the route takes us over the mountain passes of the High Atlas, past Berber villages where children run after the car laughing - into the real Morocco.

We follow the legendary Road of 1000 Kasbahs - a scene straight out of an old adventure movie. Clay buildings merge with the landscape, gorges such as Todra or Dades open up steeply and wildly. In the evening we find secluded pitches, pitch the roof tent, cook tajine in the open air - above us an endless starry sky. Pure freedom.
Then the journey reaches its climax: the desert - the heart and soul of Morocco. Instead of the touristy dunes of Erg Chebbi, we are drawn to an off-road route through the endless expanses of the Sahara to Erg Chegaga - remote, pristine, breathtaking. We meet nomads, drink tea in tents and experience the silence of the desert.

In Fez, we immerse ourselves in history and craftsmanship - through narrow alleyways, the famous tanners' quarter and the scent of leather and spices. Everywhere we go we meet people full of curiosity, warmth and helpfulness. Hospitality is not a cliché here, but a living culture - in the city as well as in the most remote village.

Morocco surprises with new diversity in every region - in landscape, encounters and colors. This trip was much more than a road trip: it was an immersion in a country full of originality, warmth and colorfulness.

Morocco is not a place you visit - it is an experience you live.
