Lale imagined life at 40 to be different: Since her divorce, she has been living in her childhood bedroom again - as a carer for her mother, who suffers from dementia. With a trip to Amrum, Lale wants to escape the challenges of this relationship, which is not easy anyway, at least temporarily. But before the long-awaited recovery can begin, her mother becomes entangled in a murder case that leads deep into her abysmal memories: As a child sent to live alone on Föhr. But the clues surrounding the crime go back even further, into a dark chapter of German history that her mother prefers to keep quiet about...

Turid Müller reads from her book and talks from the sewing box. In conversation with the audience, there is room for questions and for the major themes of the book: care, dementia, child abandonment and the challenge of leading happy relationships. The psychologist will guide the audience through the story and the evening with emotion and a twinkle in her eye. There will be an opportunity for a chat after the event during the book sale and signing session.

The Alzheimer Society Hamburg, for which donations will be requested afterwards, will be available to answer questions on the subject of dementia during the book signing after the reading.
