In C von Sasha Waltz & Guests

Sasha Waltz's "In C" is a colorful exploration of the world of minimal music and danced democracy at the same time. Based on Terry Riley's revolutionary composition of the same name from 1964, the choreographer developed a choreographic score with 53 movement figures in an equally open structure together with 10 dancers in spring 2021. The choreography combines a clear set of rules with structured improvisation, giving the dancers room for individual freedom and ever new variations - making each performance unique. The central theme here is the relationship between individual freedom and social responsibility, which is constantly renegotiated by the performers over the course of the evenings at the Haus der Berliner Festspiele - to the live, hypnotic and energetic interpretation of "In C" by the Swiss post-industrial band "The Young Gods".
