Twice nominated for the German Jazz Award, saxophonist Inga Rothammel moves between wild improvisations and lyrical melodies. Using electronic sounds, natural sounds and a great deal of experimentation, she creates a jungle of quivering beats, mystical soundscapes and dreamy saxophone melodies. Her rapped and spoken lyrics complement the soundscapes.

With her trio Ingen Navn Trio, Inga has played at the Festival Jazz International Nijmegen (2021), the Cologne Jazzweek (2023) and she is a prizewinner of the Werner Richard -Dr. Carl Dörken Foundation Jazz Competition (2021). She was nominated for the German Jazz Award with her debut album "Elewha" (BertholdRecords, 2024) and with her album "Octopetala" (Boomslangrecords, 2025). In December 2022, she resided in the jungle of Peru for an extended period and traveled to the south of Argentina with her saxophone.
