In the organizer's words:

The art prize was established in 2006 by Ingeborg and Dr. Alfred Roeder and is aimed at participants in art courses at the Duisburg Adult Education Center. The aim of the prize is to promote artistic quality and individual styles and make them visible.

An expert jury chaired by the Düsseldorf artist Bernd Jußenhoven selects the winners from the submitted works. Two works will be judged based on the quality of craftsmanship and personal artistic expressiveness.

As in 2024, the entries selected by the jury will be presented at the Kunstverein Duisburg in 2026. The exhibition offers an insight into current artistic positions and highlights the special commitment of the Ingeborg-und-Alfred-Roeder-Stiftung to promoting art in the region.
