Ing.enium examines the myth of the engineer as a male doer and power figure.

For his scenic installation, actor Konstantin Bez invites his father, a retired communications engineer, to join him on stage. Together with musician Michael Hoppe, video artist Inti Gallardo and data analytics engineer Aileen Posadas, the two reconstruct scenes of male technical socialization in the industrial setting of the Spreehalle. What does the attribution "tech-savvy man" or "German engineer" mean? How do backward masculine codes, which are currently experiencing a global revival, affect them? What experiences do FLINTA people have in the engineering sciences, which are still dominated by men?

Ing.enium is an attempt at an encounter between father and son, a mediation between technical and artistic mindsets and the search for a language beyond stereotypical gender narratives.
