The Norwegian painter Edvard Munch is considered a pioneer of modernism in Berlin. The artist lived and worked here at the turn of the century.
Based on his paintings and prints, the tour explores the question of what led him to develop this artistic expression in this place at this time. His works are characterized by an intensive application of paint and an often sketchy painting style. Can this explain his great influence on Berlin artists at the beginning of the 20th century?
The guided tour invites all participants to join in and discuss. Detailed descriptions of the paintings bring Munch's works and those of his contemporaries to life. Tactile objects give an impression of the motifs of selected pictures in the exhibition.
The exhibition tour is aimed at blind, visually impaired and sighted people.
