ISLANDS OF THE FUTURE 2024: Discover deceleration!

On Saturday, July 6, 2024, from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m., the cultural series ISLANDS OF THE FUTURE will celebrate its premiere in the International Art & Culture Quarter Schiffbauergasse. Once a year, the cultural sponsors of Schiffbauergasse will dedicate themselves experimentally, artistically, musically and performatively to a topic of the future. Under this year's motto "Discover Deceleration!", the T-Werk Potsdam, the Hans Otto Theater, the fabrik Potsdam, the Theaterschiff, the museum FLUXUS+ and the Waschhaus Potsdam present a diverse program in cooperation with the state capital of Potsdam and the Schiffbauergasse discovers slowness. "Im Rausch der Zeit" merges sound, videos and dancers, who lose the ground beneath their feet and move weightlessly in space, into a theatrical musical performance that provides a view of the absurd, the creaturely. The stage and auditorium can no longer be separated. We are all in the middle and part of the action. The Future is now!
