Inside Juggling

A show like a tracking shot: fast-paced, funny and virtuoso. With clubs, selfie sticks and live projections, Liza van Brakel twists the audience's perception. She transports the audience into a world of colorful images and visual manipulations, full of unexpected moments and choreographic finesse. "Inside Juggling" explores the relationship between people and their media image, between authenticity, staging and self-optimization. The performer juggles between choreography, stage and her own image in a humorous and entertaining way, presenting the price of restless adventurousness on the one hand and the poetry of contradictory dreams on the other.

Alex Allison and Jonas Schiffauer founded Hippana.Maleta in 2018 and have been researching a circus language that combines juggling with object manipulation ever since. Together they share a vision of combining circus, poetry and performance. Hippana.Maleta are on tour throughout Europe with their productions. The current production is their first collaboration with Dutch juggler Liza van Brakel.
