The increased cost of living is a particular burden on families with low incomes, and poverty in old age is also on the rise in Germany. At 28.1 percent, the risk of poverty among the over-65s in Germany is higher than the EU average. But who is actually considered poor? And what does it mean to be poor in a country as rich as Bavaria? Above all, what support is available and how can we help? Sabine Hansky, Director Program & Expert for Urban Development at Munich Urban Colab, talks about this with
