Sustainability in fashion is a trend: every second consumer in Germany states that they pay attention to environmental protection and high standards when buying clothes. However, actual consumer behavior differs noticeably from this. The popularity of fast fashion and platforms such as Shein and Temu continues unabated. New trends are so affordable - throwing away and buying new becomes the principle.

However, the more clothing is produced, the greater the impact on the environment. According to estimates, the fashion industry is responsible for 10 percent of global CO2 emissions - more than international aviation and shipping combined.

So what can we do? Consume less? Repair instead of throwing away? Fiber recycling and more fashion from waste?

Sabine Hansky, Director Program & Expert for Urban Development at Munich Urban Colab, talks about this at Inspiration & Talk with
