Basic theory: Wed. February 11 from 15:00 - 19:00 (via ZOOM)

We will start with the online theory units on the afternoon of February 11 before the practical part so that we can use our time on site for the practical part. In the theory part, we will teach the basics of growth behavior, pruning techniques and objectives for pruning old trees, both for rejuvenation pruning and maintenance pruning. Afterwards, all participants will have enough time to ask questions so that we are well prepared for the practical implementation on site.

Procedure in the practical part 04.03. to 06.03.2026:

• Friday: After the introductory round, you will be given an old tree to prune at your leisure. In the evening we will then deal with work safety and tool knowledge.
• Saturday & Sunday we continue in the crowns of the old trees. You will prune the trees in groups and later in pairs under close supervision, receive tips and help with working at height and learn how your actions can significantly prolong the life of the fruit trees.

At the end of the course, you will receive a certificate of participation from us. Mijou from Erfurt will provide us with lunch. Lunch and good rental tools are included in the price.
