As a mainstream flop, this production more or less unintentionally became a midnight movie hit. It was only after New York movie theater operators placed the film in their midnight slots that the triumphal march around Rocky, Brad and Janet really took off. Over time, fixed rituals became established that accompanied every screening: Exclamations, the throwing of rice and confetti, wild dancing and clapping. Decades later, Rocky Horror fans still make an annual pilgrimage to the Schauburg on Rose Monday to keep the party alive.
Due to a flat tire, newlyweds Janet and Brad have to seek shelter in a remote castle. There, the transvestite Frank-N-Furter is about to present his latest creation, the blond, muscle-bound Rocky Horror, to his friends.
