On March 8 - International Women's Day - attention has been drawn to women's rights, gender equality and discrimination worldwide for over 100 years. The numerous positive changes encourage us to continue fighting for equality with all our strength, because there is still a lot to do - whether in everyday life, at work or in the area of healthcare. It is gratifying to see that numerous committed people in Dortmund are working together for gender equality and improved equal opportunities. Throughout March, the Women's Weeks offer the opportunity to get to know the work of organizations, clubs and associations and to discover how colourful and diverse the topic of equality is.

Award ceremony & improv theater
To honor people who are committed to improving the position of girls and women in Dortmund society, the Soroptimist Club Dortmund RuhrRegion, in cooperation with the Equal Opportunities Office of the City of Dortmund, awards the Dr. Edith Peritz Prize* in the amount of 1500 euros every year. Mayor Thomas Westphal will honor the award winner with a laudatory speech. The award ceremony will be accompanied by Impro 005. Don't know what to expect? Great, neither do we!
