Internationaler Museumstag im Kunstmuseum Ahlen

The day of action proclaimed by the International Council of Museums (ICOM) in 2026 is under the important motto: "Museums uniting a divided world". In this spirit, the Kunstmuseum Ahlen invites you to discover our exhibition of works of international contemporary art from the Maximilian and Agathe Weishaupt Collection, which have rarely been shown in public before, as part of the "Discover Museums" initiative.

12 noon | Passion - Music and art in dialog
A musical tour of the exhibition with Dagmar Schmidt. Pupils from the Musikschule im Kreis Warendorf e.V. play at selected locations. Various instruments, songs and compositions, different rhythms and timbres unfold a kaleidoscope of musical impressions - which enter into an intensive dialog with the multifaceted works of art from the Weishaupt Collection.

2 pm and 4 pm | Discovering and collecting - family tour
Art educators Lucia Höpfner and Meike Kokoska take families on a creative journey of discovery. They will not only discover art, but also collect colors, shapes, patterns and materials that can be used for their own creative designs at prepared stations.
