Ira Funesta

Ira Funesta is a post-metal band formed in 2023, uniting three members from different parts of the world: Chris (guitar & vocals) from the raw energy of Santa Cruz, California; Lu (bass & vocals) from the intense contrasts of Italy; and Tiago (drums) from vibrant Portugal.

Their sound is somewhere between sludge and catharsis - a mixture of slowly crushing heaviness and sudden, chaotic outbursts. Loud, melancholic and angry at the same time, the band creates space for deep introspection between sadness, anger and final liberation.

Inspired by bands like Isis, Cult of Luna, Amenra, Neurosis, Yob, King Woman, Rosetta, Thou, ERR and Mrs. Piss - and many more - Ira Funesta create music that is both visceral and transcendent: a raw emotional journey through light and darkness.
