Cole Porter is one of the most influential composers of the 20th century. What keeps his songs alive today as part of the Great American Songbook is not only their melodic clarity, but above all his language: pointed, witty, often humorous and at the same time of unexpected tenderness. Whether love song or farewell, Porter's lyrics still speak across generations today.

It's De-Lovely is a song recital dedicated to the music and lyrics of Cole Porter. Theater Freiburg ensemble member Brandy Butler interprets the songs together with guitarist Dani Solimine and saxophonist Daniel Küfer. In an intimate setting, Porter's songs are complemented by short spoken insights into his life and work.
