IT'S FRIDAY, I'M IN LOVE. With The Cure in the Museum of Antiquities.

In this short tour, millennia-old objects from the ancient Mediterranean meet the soundscape of The Cure. How do people deal with transience, loss and memory? And what traces of antiquity do the "Imaginary Boys" from Crawley in the south of England leave behind? An afternoon between Styx and synthesizer.

Interactive workshop in the plaster cast collection: Ancient style development 101

In small groups, participants will explore epochs of Greek sculpture and their stylistic features in a 90-minute workshop using selected plaster casts. The format is complemented by a photo station that invites participants to capture this special moment. The atmospheric plaster cast collection in a former GDR data processing center forms an exciting framework between ancient art and architectural history.

Venue: Dittrichring 13, 1st floor, admission via the bell of the G2 Kunsthalle.

Intoxication, ecstasy and conspiracy - the Bacchanalia scandal of 186 BC

The Bacchanalia were celebrated wildly and exuberantly in ancient Rome. What began as a vegetation festival soon developed into a dangerous cult beyond all norms in the eyes of the Roman Senate - full of intoxication, unbridled sexuality and transgressive rituals. In 186 BC, the followers of Bacchus were accused of being poisoners and murderers. But what really happened at the Bacchanalia?
