He is at his most perfect in the two waltzes, where he combines noble brio with chevalieresque élan. The enthusiastic jubilation after the roaring Presto finale of the B minor sonata was satisfied by two encores of the same caliber." (SZ 2/23)
The final applause at Ivan Bessonov's last recital was frenetic, and there were standing ovations after further encores. Enthusiastic and astonished comments from the audience: "He's out of this world."
