Various ensembles at the Jacob Grimm School have been jazzin', soulin' and rockin' for more than 30 years now. In the field of popular music, there is a wide range of different formats and styles in which the pupils can let off steam musically. In addition to the jazz combo, the mixed band and the big band, the "talent factory" (Hessenschau, 18.08.2018) now has a wide variety of self-organized formations. JGS students repeatedly produce their own bands and line-ups, from solo artists to jazz tentets, probably the most prominent of which are Milky Chance and the singer LEA.
Various self-organized JGS bands can be heard as part of "Jacobs Band Night". These include "Solero" led by singer Philine Schaeffer. Accompanied by Emilia Ramic (keys), Alex Dahlfeld (cello), Thore Hutschreuter (guitar), Anna Rau (bass) and Imke Nötzhold (drums), the band plays summer tunes, cover songs and self-written material. Another band has also just been formed this school year with Elena Vogt (vocals), Jannik Janson (vocals), Nidal Abu Isa (guitar), Emila Ramic (keys), Henry Mardof (bass), David Funk (drums, guitar) and Johann Bahr (drums), who will let off steam on stage with their favorite covers.
The evening will be rounded off by the band "Indigo" with Mia Blume (vocals), Pepe Lang (vocals, guitar), Marius Kruse (sax, keys), Laurenz Plewe (guitar), Mattiss Keiss (bass) and Johann Bahr (drums). Together, the six JGS students have already made a name for themselves with their hit song "Lange Her" and are already considered the new star in the North Hessian indie sky. Don't forget your dancing shoes!
