JAKOB BÄNSCH QUARTETT Von lyrisch bis virtuos

The award-winning trumpeter and composer Jakob Bänsch is one of the "rising stars" of the European jazz scene. The renowned jazz critic Bill Milkowski even compares him to the young Wynton Marsalis. The Süddeutsche Zeitung also raves: "Powerfully and confidently following in the footsteps of the classical masters of his trade". He has already played with his own bands at renowned jazz venues and festivals in Germany (e.g. Leverkusener Jazztage, Jazz Baltica, Jazzopen Stuttgart and many more) and has worked with international jazz greats such as Nils Landgren, Wolfgang Haffner, Billy Hart, Emil Mangelsdorff, Michael Abene and as a soloist with the WDR Big Band. Bänsch comes to the Jazz Club with his debut album "Opening" and music that oscillates between lyrical melodies, virtuoso jazz, spherical soundscapes and symphonic and classical elements.
