SIGNALE, the new Dobers album, is above all about what goes on behind the pompous facades and about what people tell each other in their everyday encounters so that they don't have to talk about what is really scaring them. But unlike angry agit-prop songwriters such as Billy Bragg, Jakob Dobers always remains a friendly, cautious observer and above all tries to give expression to his general astonishment. A surreal hidden-picture pop that simply doesn't want to reveal its protagonists.

Jakob Dobers can be seen live and with a band on April 8 at Kantine am Berghain in Berlin.

Josepha Conrad (ex- Susie Asado) will open the evening.
