Jane's Walk Pedestrian Festival 2026

From May 3 to 10, 2026, the Jane's Walk pedestrian traffic festival in Munich invites everyone to go on a discovery tour together and get to know the city on foot in a new way.

What is a Jane's Walk?
Jane's Walks are city walks that take place around the world every year at the beginning of May in memory of Jane Jacobs.
A Jane's Walk is not a sporting walk or a classic city tour. Instead, it's about getting into conversation with others and discovering the city from a new perspective.

Who was Jane Jacobs?
Jane Jacobs (1916-2006) was an American journalist and author specializing in architecture and urban planning. With her books, she shaped modern urban planning and campaigned for a people-friendly city.
She recognized the importance of walking in everyday life and promoted it.

Numerous Munich organizations, associations and initiatives offer voluntary tours that explore various districts and invite people to exchange ideas .
