On this evening, the Jazz History Ensemble will perform under the direction of Prof. Fiete Felsch. Frederico Mendez will also play his final concert.

Jazz History Ensemble What would modernity be without history? As the first alto saxophonist with the NDR big band, flautist, clarinettist and busy musician, Prof. Fiete Felsch has been intensively involved with the history of jazz. During his student years, Felsch was already drawn to the USA, where the cultural heritage of jazz is still intensively cultivated today. As part of the Jazz History Ensemble, Prof. Fiete Felsch delves deep into the styles and sounds of different eras with his students. Sometimes it is special phrasing, sometimes special forms of intonation or interaction. What unites all eras, however, is the reference to each other. So if you want to understand how fluid the transition between history and modernity can sound, the Jazz History Ensemble is highly recommended.
