JAZZ KITCHEN PRESENTS: ALOU STRING QUARTET

The string quartet Alou String Quartet immerses itself in the sounds of jazz, groove and improvisation. The musicians explore traditional elements of American jazz and allow these influences to be heard in the classical string quartet line-up and their modern arrangements. Original compositions permeate their program and provide space to listen to the full chords, rhythms and improvisations. The quartet is made up of Myrsini Bekakou (violin), Alma Gröning (violin), Yağmur Atagür (viola) and Esther Thoben (cello). The musicians got to know each other during their studies at the music academies in Leipzig and Hamburg and have been a well-rehearsed group both musically and personally ever since. In this formation, the musicians have already played concerts in various venues in Germany and taken part in workshops with renowned musicians such as Stephan Braun and Christophe Schweizer.
