Moby, born Richard Melville Hall in Harlem in 1965 and related to Moby Dick author Herman Melville, is an American musician, producer and activist. He began with classical music at an early age, found his way onto the punk and electro scene in the 1980s and became famous with his single Go in 1991. Since then, he has sold over 20 million albums and worked with artists such as David Bowie, Public Enemy and Daft Punk. In addition to his music, Moby is committed to animal rights and social organizations. He produces films and documentaries with his company Little Walnut; his first feature film Tecie will be released in 2026.
