JAZZ OPEN HAMBURG 2026
In the organizer's words:
For two days, the Jazzbüro Hamburg presents fresh jazz from the Hanseatic city. Ten bands over two days—free of charge and outdoors—is a Hamburg tradition. For over 30 years, the jazz festival has been held at the concert pavilion in Planten un Blomen, right in the heart of Hamburg, in one of the city’s most beautiful parks. This time, on the last weekend of August—August 29 and 30—10 groups, ranging from duos to big bands and from brass bands to jazz-rock trios, will perform in a relaxed atmosphere, showcasing just how rich the sonic diversity of modern jazz can be. The lineup is enriched with such exciting instruments as the harp, vibraphone, baritone saxophone, and strings. There’s something for everyone here. The great thing is that there is free admission, and you can choose whether to sit in the rows of chairs and follow the individual performances or simply listen from behind them while picnicking in the park.
