With Frank Wunsch, the Cologne resident by choice returns to his home region of the Ruhr for a concert with fellow musicians. After lessons with Alfons Kontarsky, Friedrich Gulda and Fritz Pauer, he became a long-time accompanist to the brilliant Lee Konitz, recorded numerous albums with him and performed with him on international stages. Until a few years ago, he was a professor at the Musikhochschule in Cologne. His musical work can be traced in his many encounters with jazz musicians such as Kenny Wheeler, Emil and Albert Mangelsdorff, Attila Zoller, Lee Harper, Jon Eardley, Lew Tabackin, Slide Hampton and Steve Lacy.

His main connection with Ingo Marmulla is his shared experience with the American jazz legend Benny Bailey. The two have been meeting for some time to exchange ideas and play together as a duo or trio. Arrangements of standards as well as original compositions are on the agenda.

The evening's program consists of this material, which is additionally interpreted instrumentally by the Bonn "exceptional flutist" Michael Heupel and the Cologne bassist Conrad Noll. Heupel, Wunsch and Marmulla have also recorded together on various CDs and perform together on stage.
