Jazz and world music for everyone!

Our "Jazz on a Summer's Day" picnic, four open-air concerts on four Saturdays at the music pavilion between the Schauspielhaus and Schloss Jägerhof.

Since 1978, the afternoons in the park have been an invitation to everyone to enjoy culture and diverse musical cultures together.
With Free admission and the request to simply bring your own drinks, a small picnic and blankets or chairs, music enthusiasts come together at the bandstand.

Two bands play every Saturday, the program on 03.08:

Leon Plecity Quintet

With his quintet, guitarist and composer Leon Plecity explores the question of what interests and fascinates him personally about music and pours the answers into melodies, chords and rhythms. Sometimes densely powerful and exuberant, then again reduced, lyrical and fragile. The result is music that is conceptually rooted in the jazz tradition but at the same time does not shy away from diverse contemporary influences and finds an unmistakably modern language.

Mola Sylla (Senegal-NL; voice, xalam), Bao Sissoko (Senegal-BE; kora), Wouter Vandenabeele (BE; violin), Olivier Vander Bauwede (BE; harmonica, guitar)

Tamala ('Traveler') presents her second album 'Lumba', the music: versatile and surprising. Mola Sylla impresses with his powerful voice and a variety of self-made instruments. Bao Sissoko shines as a kora virtuoso, and Wouter Vandenabeele contributes European violin sounds. A new addition is Olivier Vander Bauwede, who contributes bluesy tones with his harmonica and expands the sound spectrum of Tamala.
