Jazzkantine - 30 Jahre live

The Jazzkantine has been delighting its fans up and down the country since the 90s. The unmistakable sound, which was the first in Germany to fuse elements of jazz and hip-hop and has no fear of contact with soul and funk, has repeatedly encouraged a wide variety of musicians to collaborate: Götz Alsmann, Till Brönner, Joo Kraus, Bill Evans, Gunter Hampel, Wu-Tang-Clan, Smudo and Edo Zanki have all performed with Jazzkantine or written songs for them.

A good dozen CD productions underline the popularity of this extraordinary band, which has now given well over 1500 concerts on extensive tours through the clubs and halls of Central Europe and Africa, and is at home at jazz festivals from Montreux to Königsberg.
In recent years, the ECHO award-winners around bassist and producer Christian Eitner have participated in several interesting crossover projects and successfully realized many a surprising experiment. A Tanzzkantine tour presented contemporary ballet in a choreography performed live together with the Jazzkantine musicians. In a co-production with the Landesbühne Hannover, "100 Years of Hip Hop" told the story of the Turkish rapper Puff Baba in youth centers and school auditoriums from East Frisia to the Harz Mountains. Musical theater projects such as "Hyper Hyper", "Ölper Zwölf Pöints" and "Unser Eintracht" now regularly attract tens of thousands of visitors to the State Theater in Braunschweig in midsummer. As the dance band "Tiffanys", the Jazzkantine was also on stage there in the theater production "Fleisch ist mein Gemüse".

The album "Hells Kitchen" reached No. 1 in the German jazz charts and received the Jazz Award from the German Music Industry Association for over 40,000 albums sold. The album "Mit Pauken und Trompeten" reached No. 62 in the German album charts.
