The folk-rock fusion duo "JC and the Tree" hails from the coastal town of Sunshine Coast in Australia and draws inspiration from their natural surroundings. They write about life and all its complexities with lyrics full of analogies and inspiration from the natural world. Fans describe their style as complex yet accessible. With soaring violin melodies, rich harmonies, piano, and handcrafted acoustic guitars, their sound is both grounded and transcendent, weaving an emotive tapestry of folk, rock, roots, contemporary, and more. The duo takes the audience on a journey through various genres and enchants them with their versatility and craftsmanship. With two albums and six singles under their belt, they are currently working on their third album. Motivated by their love of nature, the duo has gone to great lengths to offer ethically and sustainably produced merchandise.

JC and the Tree look back on a rich touring history in Australia, where they have been performing full-time for the past three years. Festivals they’ve played include the Woodford Folk Festival, the Airlie Beach Festival, the Caloundra Music Fest, and many more. Founding member JC has been touring since the age of 19 and has already performed six times at the Glastonbury Festival (UK), the WOMAD Festival (UK), the Bluesfest (Australia), and the Splendour in the Grass Festival (Australia). Lead singer Jesse built the two acoustic guitars he plays himself and is often busy after shows chatting with the audience and listening to their stories. He sourced the wood himself after a tree was uprooted during a hurricane and carried out all the work—from harvesting the wood to building the guitars—on his own. He is passionately committed to the sustainable sourcing of wood for instrument making.
