The story is familiar from Alfred Hitchcock's classic film - but it is the reading that shows how gripping the story really is. When the birds gather in flocks, smash windows and attack people, a tension arises in the mind's eye that no movie can ever create so densely.

The story is read by Jens Wawrczeck, known for decades as the cult voice of Peter Shaw of the "Three ???" and a master of language. His readings are notorious for giving you goosebumps: a voice turns into characters, scenes and ultimately whole movies in your head. He will be accompanied by Jan Peter Pflug on the theremin - the instrument that, with its eerie vibrations, is made for Hitchcock material.

An evening for Hitchcock fans, cineastes and anyone who enjoys thrills in literary form.
