The music of Jessica Kandeler & The Mega Nice Band skillfully blends jazz, soul, blues, reggae and ska. They play their own songs as well as newly arranged classics and almost forgotten titles, which are interpreted with fresh energy, respect for the original and great joy in playing. The focus is on stylistic openness and musical curiosity.

At the center is singer Jessica Kandeler, who has been firmly anchored in the Berlin music scene for many years. Her musical career has taken her through a wide variety of genres and projects. With The Mega Nice Band, she wants to consciously break new ground and set a musical example - for joie de vivre, community and positive energy. Her voice combines warmth, expressiveness and presence and carries the songs with ease through the most diverse stylistic worlds.

The songs are as colorful as life itself: From swinging passages and soulful grooves to reggae and ska influences, the result is a sound that is infectious without being intrusive. The arrangements are rich in detail, lively and open to interaction - ideal for snapping along, tapping along or simply enjoying. Handmade music meets stylistic diversity and a palpable desire to play together.

In February 2024, the band worked on their debut album at Planet Earth Studio in Berlin, which was released in July 2024 under the title "Lebensfreude". The album title says it all: the music radiates optimism, warmth and joy of playing and invites you to leave everyday life behind for a moment.
