Stefanie Egedy - BODIES AND SUBWOOFERS (B.A.S.)

Stefanie Egedy explores the effects of low-frequency sound in her work as a composer, focusing on conceptual pieces, commissioned works and experimental electronic music. She explores the possibilities of low-frequency sound, bodies and subwoofers, from installations to live performances. Her artistic practice, known as BODIES AND SUBWOOFERS (B.A.S.), revolves around subbass, bass, infrasound and subwoofers, exploring their therapeutic effects and their ability to shape space. Egedy's work also explores the interaction between human and architectural bodies and sound waves, using various techniques such as field recordings, analog and digital synthesis. She articulates the interface between sonic and musical language to explore communication through sound. Egedy has exhibited and worked in various contexts including festivals, art institutions and parties worldwide, and she is part of the SHAPE+ artist roster supported by the European Commission. She is now bringing her work to Mannheim for the Jetztmusik Festival 2024.
