Growing up in the 1980s in the middle of nowhere in Weserbergland, Jimmy was quickly influenced by legends such as Richie Havens, John Lee Hooker, Dion, Chuck Berry, Elvis and Johnny Cash.

His career as an artist really took off in the early 1990s when he moved to Hamburg. As a member of various formations, but above all as a solo musician, he quickly became known far beyond the city's borders. His solo debut Rhythm Of Hells - Songs Of Angels History was released in 2007, in which Cornett set to music the shared history of the Hells Angels with music legends such as Janis Joplin, Rolling Stones, Jerry Garcia, Johnny Cash and Hank Williams. In 2010, he filmed a video for the title track in the Pyrenees in preparation for the Deadmen's debut album Raise The Dust. The following year saw the release of his solo EP California Session, which also featured the nephew of actress Julia Roberts, another prime example of the international orientation of his music.
