JIVE. Die Journalismus-Show

Experience first-hand reporting, live and musically accompanied by the great impromptu orchestra.

On October 18, 2024, a unique show celebrates its premiere in Hamburg: JIVE brings a completely new kind of storytelling to the stage - live journalism accompanied by orchestral music. This exciting genre, which already fills halls with over 2,000 spectators in other countries, combines authentic journalism with the dynamics of a live performance.

The 120-minute show can be compared to a magazine on stage. Just as the audience usually leafs through a magazine, at JIVE they can experience stories from completely different departments.

With them are

• reporter Julia Kopatzki from Der SPIEGEL with a gripping report on the coaching boom in Germany ,
• freelance investigative reporter Katharina Finke on the illegal timber trade in Ghana - and our neighborhood ,
• the award-winning science journalist Eva Wolfangel with a report on how artificial intelligence can change our memories ,
• a gripping true crime story by journalist and author Malte Herwig from the Austrian cultural elite ,
• Farangies Ghafoor, science editor at Der Tagesspiegel, who will shed light on the topic of TikTok addiction, and
• a photo reportage on European contemporary witnesses by freelance photographer Maximilian Gödecke.

This is the best authentic journalism for a living democracy, which will be presented as part of the 2nd Hamburg Week of Press Freedom. As always, our speakers' research will be accompanied by the sounds of the wonderful Stegreif Orchestra.

This will be our first appearance in Hamburg, but then twice - at 11:00 and 20:00.

JIVE is organized by Headliner gUG, which also organizesthe well-known Reporter Slams in Germany and internationally.
