VESPER SPARROW is the new album by the Grenadian-Jamaican-American artist and musician JJJJJerome Ellis, which will be released on Shelter Press on November 14th and is dedicated to JJJJJerome's grandmothers. The concert performance at Kampnagel combines song and poetry with Black improvisational practice, linking influences of church hymns with irregular beats that create rhythmic freedom and are simultaneously a meditation on stuttering. The audience is invited to enter atmospheres of piano, voice, saxophone and electronic sounds. After numerous stops in the USA, JJJJJJerome Ellis is coming back to Europe this year for a few gigs, and for the first time to Hamburg.
