In this program, Anna Vinnitskaya and Joana Mallwitz join forces with two impressive artists on the stage of the Isarphilharmonie. With her relaxed, approachable manner, JOANA MALLWITZ stands for a new image of the conducting profession. Anna Vinnitskaya can not only ignite pianistic fireworks, but also knows how to paint large canvases. She will showcase both in Tchaikovsky's famous first piano concerto. Béla Bartók and Zoltán Kodály present themselves as storytellers of a very different kind with their concert suites. While Kodály skillfully merges his love of folk music with the art music of opera for the incredible adventures of the Hungarian baron of lies Háry János, Bartók chooses a different approach for his wonderful Mandarin. He composed the music for the "Mandarin" not as an edification, but as an unembellished reflection of reality, causing a scandal. With its uncompromising tonal language, "The Miraculous Mandarin" is a milestone in 20th century music history.
