Johannes Wehrle, pianist with a passion for sonic border crossings, meets Johannes Ziemann, drummer and producer. Together they dissect German music history and reassemble it kaleidoscopically. Under the title German Songs Reworks - From Marlene Dietrich to Jan Delay, the result is a program that uses well-known and unknown songs as a starting point for improvised, jazzy piano and percussion arrangements.
From the elegant chansons of Marlene Dietrich and the mechanical melodies of Kraftwerk to the driving rhythms of Neue Deutsche Welle and modern classics by Jan Delay - the duo plays with melodies, rhythms and harmonies to make the familiar sound fresh and surprising. Whether original compositions or reharmonizations of German classics - music lovers can expect an evening full of freedom, inspiration and perhaps a moment or two of recognition.
With a lot of passion and creative joy of playing, the duo invites you to immerse yourself in German songs - a musical experience for international guests and German fans alike.
