"Dance is the hidden language of the soul" is the motto of John Neumeier's Bundesjugendballett. With a varied program, the Hamburg-based dance company initiated by the world-famous choreographer in 2011 inspires across all borders with dedication, precision and the irrepressible joy of physical expression. Their shared passion for dance has also taken them to performance venues away from the theater stage - with sensational performances in places such as swimming pools and prisons. In the Prinzregententheater, the eight international dancers between the ages of 18 and 23, who have been working in the ensemble for two years, offer an exquisite and diverse program over the Easter weekend. "In the Blue Garden" pays homage to the company's founder John Neumeier himself, who had his work premiered by the Hamburg Ballet in 1994: To Maurice Ravel's composition "Ma Mère l'Oye", the young dance talents under the direction of Kevin Haigen captivate the audience with a dance allegory about the fleetingness of the moment. Different, nameless figures meet for a few moments in a mysterious place, linger, wait, dream and then move on. The stage becomes a place of encounter, departure constantly hovers in the air, fragments of life and its transience are shown. A dancing game of searching, finding and losing.
