Johnny Orlando has made an incredible development. But that was to be expected from the young man who uploaded his first cover versions to YouTube at the tender age of eight (and with the help of his older sister). That was quite a while ago now, and the up-and-coming pop superstar of this generation has come a long way. Orlando has amassed more than 3.3 billion streams in his career and a social media following of more than 28 million avid fans around the world. Along the way, Orlando has received nominations for Breakthrough Artist of the Year and Pop Album of the Year at the Juno Awards, as well as winning Best Canadian Act at the MTV European Music Awards for four consecutive years. Last year saw the release of his long-awaited debut album "All The Things That Could Go Wrong", which shows a whole new side to the Canadian. The record is a true coming-of-age story that deals with topics such as anxiety, fear of the unknown, pressure from social media, excessive brooding and complicated relationships. Exactly what a 19-year-old is dealing with. What is surprising, however, is the musical maturity with which Orlando has approached his work. There is not much left of the carefree teen star, but the voice has naturally become fuller and warmer and the songs are much more raw and personal than anything he has revealed so far. The debut album captures the ups and downs of a young artist and social media star whose development fans and media have followed in the spotlight over the last ten years. What remains are those charismatic and irresistible pop grooves combined with the wonderfully intimate lyricism that underscore Orlando's thoughtful and poetic streak. He is currently working on his new project "The Ride", the first two singles of which were released in July and September. In February, he will go on "The Ride" tour and will also play two concerts in Germany.
